Lisa A. Samuth

Her practice is built on quality, long-term client relationships, which include individuals, couples, and families with businesses and high-net-worth estates, beneficiaries, and fiduciaries following the death or incapacity of a loved one. Lisa also prepares federal gift and estate tax returns.
For nearly two decades, Lisa has served her clients as a trusted partner and resource. She prides herself on providing insightful and compassionate counsel to clients while designing solutions and plans tailored to accomplish their trust and estate planning goals. One of the most rewarding moments for Lisa occurs when clients share their appreciation of understanding the sophisticated legal and complex tax structures of estate planning and administration. Before taking the helm at Weitzen Phillips Samuth & Sinex LLP with Jennifer Sinex, Lisa was a Partner at one of San Diego’s largest full-service law firms. She previously spent over ten years practicing with firm founder Eric Weitzen, working collaboratively on complex trust and estate matters. Lisa was also in-house counsel for a large family-run corporation, which deepened her understanding of the concerns and objectives for business succession planning. Lisa earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of San Diego before earning her law degree from California Western School of Law.
As a native San Diegan, Lisa enjoys giving back to her community and has served as a member of the Estates & Trusts Council of Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation since 2019. Lisa also volunteers for the San Diego County Bar Association’s Wills for Heroes program, which provides wills and other estate planning documents free of charge to the county’s first responders. She has presented to myriad organizations throughout her career and previously collaborated with other tax and finance professionals on a weekly radio show covering trust and estate matters.
