Lisa Samuth and Jennifer Sinex acquired Weitzen Philips Samuth & Sinex LLP from founding attorney, Eric Weitzen, and his longtime partner, Susan Phillips, effective January 1, 2022. This successful transition provides clients with a continuity of service while allowing Eric and Susan to focus on their passion for the practice of law. Weitzen Philips Samuth & Sinex LLP was built on the storied success of Eric Weitzen, who founded his own law practice in 1989. For over four decades, Eric has been a trusted advisor to multiple generations of San Diego families. He has earned a reputation for providing sophisticated and strategic counsel. Attorney and Certified Tax Specialist Susan Phillips joined Eric in 1993, and together, Eric and Susan have represented thousands of clients in a wide range of legal matters, including estate planning, business matters and real estate transactions. Lisa and Jennifer have had the pleasure of working together since 2004 at two prior law firms, including Weitzen & Phillips LLP. Jennifer started practicing law in 1995 and earned her Master of Laws degree in Taxation and certification as a Legal Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. Jennifer is committed to providing clients tailored estate plans that effectuate wealth transfer and other planning goals. Lisa has enjoyed serving clients since 2003 as a trusted advisor and resource by guiding clients through the complex and often confusing financial and legal decisions to create tax efficient plans that protect their estates and businesses.
